Expert
lecture was held by the Department of Information Technology, MVSREC on 31st of
August, 2017. The main objective of this talk is to expose students to
practical problems in the area of big data. All the faculty and staff of IT
Department has supported and given their efforts in organizing this lecture.
This lecture was attended by more than 150 participants.

Smt. Geeta Varadan address detailed the paradigm
shift of computers with fundamentals on Big Data, Data Science, big data
generation and the magnitude of Data. She mentioned the technologies and skills
required in this area. Real time Challenges were discussed which made everyone to
think practically. She also explained about BigData clouds, IoT, Intelligent
Video Analytics and activity monitoring systems. Her presentation attracted
audience attention by discussing issues related to security, healthcare, transportation,
energy and utilities and satellite communications.
