WOMEN’S DAY 2015

The International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8th every year throughout the

world. The WIE Affinity group of IEEE SB, MVSREC celebrated Women’s day on

March 7th ,2015 .

The theme of the day : Cancer Awareness and Health issues of Women.

 On this occasion,a session was held on Cancer Awareness addressed by Dr. Sowjanya

Kurakula, MD, Gynaecologist.

Objectives of the Session:

(a)   Introduction to Cancer and its causes

      (b) Types of Cancer common in women

      (c) Measures to prevent cancer

      (d) Treatments available for different types of cancer

Later on, a Quiz was held for both students and faculty and winners were awarded separately among students and faculty
